BPM OCEB2 Fundamental

Over the last 15 years I’m in IT consultanting business and were building large enterprise applications. I started as a Java developer using the state-of-the-art Java Enterprise Stack and was involved in many customer projects as an architect, business analyst, project manager, lead developer or any other role. Especially in last five years, I’m developing solutions which use business process engine for automating business processes. Especially since BPMN 2.0 has arrived in 2011, the process automation can be performed using the same process model for both disciplines: business analysis and conception and implementation and runtime. But to tell the truth, BPMN 2.0 is only a small piece of a larger topic, which I’m very interesting in: Business Process Management.

The Object Management Group, known by most software developers through the standardization of UML, has developed different standards for dealing with BPM. Besides BPMN 2.0, CMMN 1.0 can be used for case management, and BMM is a Business Motivation Model, which describes an onthology and a vocabulary for management end enterprises. If you are interested in all those subjects, like I am, the OMG certification program may be good for you. In fact it is not the certification itself, but the preparation which forces you to handle all those subjects. There are comprehensive courses, good trainers and very nice books for learning the subject. At the end you got your 120 minutes to answer 90 questions about different facets BPM. The foundation level is pretty fair, and you need 69% to pass.
