For a couple of days I tryed out Google Earth, a desktop application of Google Maps services.
If Google becomes some concurency the old maps and GIS will become absolete.
I’m pleased with the detail-level and the huge ammount of meta-data.
Do you know the problem of working on several computers at the same time and having three mice and three keyboards laying on the table. Sure, a KVM-Switch solves the problem of multiple hardware — now you are always tipping on the wrong console.

Today I discovered skype, a small, easy to use prorgam for internet telephony.
